Until April 2013: Seafood for Thought
This year long exhibit at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery in Steveston BC explores contemporary issues related to fishing, seafood and the state of our oceans. The exhibit is a combination of educational material and thought-provoking artwork. It features a rotating selection of my ocean paintings. More details here.
May 25 – June 3: Gallery Gachet
My ocean paintings will be part of a group show of artists who received Downtown Eastside Artist Grants in 2011/12. These grants are funded by the Vancouver Foundation and support the career development of artists living and working in this vibrant part of the city. Join me and the other artists at the opening reception on Friday, May 25.
June 2: First Saturdays Open Studio
Blue Lantern Studio (1218 East Pender, just west of Clark Dr): 12-5 pm On this first Saturday in June, drop by my studio to see what I’m working on . A changing group of artists in East Vancouver open their studios for this monthly event. Check the website for details: firstsaturday.ca
June 7: Private View
In June, my ocean paintings will be featured at Bird on a Wire Creations (2535 Main Street, Vancouver). Join me for the opening reception – a Private View – on the evening of Thursday, June 7 and kick off celebrations of World Ocean’s Day (June 8).
June 9: Draw Down Finale!
Join me at the Britannia Community Centre on Commercial Drive (Vancouver, BC) for an afternoon of free drawing workshops and fun! I’ll be leading a drop-in workshop on drawing with unusual implements …. sky’s the limit. More details here.
September 30: Word on the Street! Vancouver
Join me at Word on the Street downtown at Library Square. I’ll have a booth with my books for children of all ages.
November 16, 17, 18: Eastside Culture Crawl
I’ll be opening my studio during this amazing three-day event. Check out the other 300+ artists and studios too!
On-going: Bird on a Wire Creations
2535 Main Street (just south of Broadway in Vancouver). Bird on a Wire is a beautiful store showcasing a 100-mile diet of local art. The store carries a wide selection of my collages, cards, books and linocut prints. Check it out!
