The fossils

In December I’m taking a little break from fish to explore other parts of the collections at the Beaty Museum. Yesterday I poked around some of the fossil collection cabinets and found these two interesting specimens.

A coral (Blothrophyllum houghtoni):

And a mammoth tooth (not just in size, though this one is about 10 cm in diameter):
