The Voice of the Sea – opens tomorrow!

I’m down at Granville Island on this gorgeous sunny day, hanging my paintings in the lobby gallery at the Waterfront Theatre. Pretty much bliss! (Especially after all the long hours this week getting the paintings finished.)

Vancouver’s The Province newspaper has chosen The Voice of the Sea as one of the best things to see this weekend, which is thrilling to me. If you’re able to pick up a copy, I’m on page B2. Carey Gillette, the paper’s entertainment editor, says, “If you need any more reminders that our oceans are in trouble, check out this exhibit by Vancouver artist Robi Smith. She takes the beauty of the sea and all of its vibrant and colourful life, and then gives you a reality check by throwing in elements of climate change, overfishing and pollution. Especially timely with Earth Day approaching.” Couldn’t have said it better myself!

If you’re in Vancouver, I’d love for you to come to the opening tomorrow evening from 5 to 7 pm. The Waterfront Theatre is next to the Kids Only Market on Cartwright Street.
