‘Us and Them’ opens tonight!

Just a quick reminder that the solo exhibition of my collage work opens this evening at the Britannia Art Gallery. The Gallery is inside the Britannia Library, just off Commercial Drive at Napier Street in Vancouver.

Trick Turtles (Robi Smith, mixed media collage, 6 x 9 inches)

Even though the gallery is small, it’s extremely well run under the very capable hands of artist and curator, Haruko Okano. She has made the entire exhibition run smoothly, from detailed installation guidance to creating and sending out the press release and making the show invitations, to organizing the catering (from Open Sesame) and a host for the evening. I feel very spoiled, usually having to do all this type of work myself (in addition to creating all the artwork). Thank you, Haruko!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone this evening, having received a couple dozen positive RSVPs and a few enquiries about the work already. If you’re in Vancouver, please drop by. The opening is from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and will be very relaxed. Children are welcome (it’s in a library, after all)!

  1. Good luck on your exhibition. Perhaps I’ll explore your sight a little and see your work. Its a long drive to Vancouver from Toronto.

    • Thanks David! The opening this evening was fabulous and the response to the show really great. At the moment the images of the work in the show are not yet up on my website.. that’s on my to do list over the next week or so. But most of them are in my blog entries if you look under ‘collage’. Thanks again for your interest in my work 🙂
